Teclo vs Keeby
Updated
Keeby and Teclo cost the same, run on the same macOS versions and both place each key in stereo. Keeby gives you more control over one sound; Teclo gives you more kinds of sound, a trial and a pet.

The short answer
- Pick Keeby if you want to tune one switch sound with a tone and pitch pad, or want it to react when you plug in headphones.
- Pick Teclo if you want to try it free for 7 days first, want sounds beyond switches, or want the keycap pet.
A pad against a set of packs
Keeby’s 2D pad moves one sound between thock and clack. Teclo builds that range as separate packs, each measured: Boulder is the deep one at 2,428 Hz with the longest ring, Knuckle the bright one at 3,653 Hz, and Butter sits between. The thock, clack and creamy guide lets you hear all three.
Switch names
Keeby’s 12 profiles carry the names of switch types that keyboard fans know. Teclo’s packs describe what they imitate instead (“Linear in a heavy aluminium case”) because they are synthesized, not recordings of a named switch.
Questions
Is Keeby's latency really under 3 ms?
Keeby's App Store listing claims "sub-3ms". That is the maker's own figure; we have not measured it, and we have not published a figure for Teclo either.
Can I shape the sound in Keeby or Teclo?
Keeby has a 2D pad for tone, from thock to clack, and pitch. Teclo has a volume slider and instead offers separate packs for each character, from a deep Boulder to a bright Knuckle.
